Game Review
Borussia Dortmund delivered a commanding performance in their Bundesliga clash against FSV Mainz 05, securing a 4-0 victory at home. This result was largely expected given Dortmund's strong form and position in the league, contrasting with Mainz's struggles this season. The match started with Dortmund asserting their dominance early on. Sehrou Guirassy (GAP +4.3%) opened the scoring in the 10th minute, setting the tone for the rest of the game. Just five minutes later, Maximilian Beier (GAP +3.7%) doubled the lead, capitalizing on Mainz's defensive lapses. Guirassy struck again in the 42nd minute, ensuring Dortmund went into the break with a comfortable 3-0 lead. In the second half, Dortmund maintained control, and Dominik Kohr (GAP +3.4%) added a fourth goal in the 84th minute, sealing a comprehensive victory. Despite Mainz's efforts, they were unable to break through Dortmund's solid defense, with Gregor Kobel (GAP +5.3%) keeping a clean sheet. Tactically, Dortmund's manager made no changes to the starting lineup from their previous match, indicating confidence in his squad's current form. In contrast, Mainz's head coach made several substitutions during the game, bringing in Kacper Potulski, Phillipp Mwene, Sheraldo Becker, Paul Nebel, and Nelson Weiper, but these changes failed to alter the course of the match. The standout performances came from Dortmund's attacking players, particularly Guirassy and Beier, who were instrumental in breaking down Mainz's defense. Ramy Bensebaini (GAP +5.3%) and Julian Brandt (GAP +4.6%) also contributed significantly to Dortmund's attacking prowess. This victory solidifies Dortmund's position in the upper echelons of the Bundesliga table, boosting their confidence as they continue their pursuit of the title. For Mainz, this defeat highlights the challenges they face as they struggle to climb out of the lower half of the standings. The team will need to regroup and find solutions to improve their defensive resilience in upcoming fixtures.

What is GAP?
What is Plus Minus Goals (G±)?
Plus Minus Goals (G±) is the average goal difference per game while the player was on the pitch. A value above 0 indicates that the team rather wins, a value below 0 means his team concedes more goals than they score when the player is on the pitch. As an example, if the player's team is winning 3:1 the goal difference is +2, if the player's team is loosing 0:1, the goal difference is -1. It is a pure metric which is barely adjusted for circumstances to purely show the goal difference.
What is GAP?
GAP (Game Advantage Percentage) shows the percentage gap between a player and the average league player. It answers the question: How much does a player improve or worsen a team's performance? It is based on high level game data with a focus on the impact on the goal difference (G±) from the last 50 games of a player. Besides that, GAP goes further and considers game context by involving data from the player and all other players who are at the same time on the pitch, no matter if teammates or opponents. Football GAP - the individual metric for team players.
